Cheshire Community Church
Minutes - Church Board Meeting - June 5, 2007

Present: Pastor Kevin Cotter, Gene Crawford, Riley Keller, Bill Pellicano, Keith Rowlands

April and May financial reports were reviewed and approved.

Minutes of April 24th meeting were reviewed and approved.

Pastor Kevin asked for comments on the men’s retreat. Keith thought it went well; we need to get more people. Next time we should do more advertising with fliers, posters, etc. All seemed to enjoy the video. Pastor Kevin asked if the board thought we could do the whole video series, doing one per week, possibly on a Sunday evening, or perhaps on a once a month basis. Some felt the time it would take to show the video plus discussion time would be too long for a Sunday evening. Pastor Kevin wondered if we should purchase the entire video series at a total cost of $75. A motion was made, seconded and approved to purchase this set of videos.

The VBS meeting on Sunday was disappointing in that not too many people, other than the Cotter family, volunteered to help with VBS. We need more people to get involved. At this point, we don’t have enough people to help. Fliers announcing VBS need to be prepared and distributed in the community. (Rachel Eames and Catherine Chrysler agreed to distribute the fliers).

Pastor Kevin will be baptizing several people in July (the 22nd or 29th) probably at the Butler Road Park - Canandaigua Lake.

Pastor Kevin announced there was to be a symposium "Missional Church Architecture" at Northeastern Seminary on June 21 which he would like to attend. He asked if any of the other board members would be interested in going. Keith indicated he would like to go. A motion was made, seconded and approved that the church pay for Keith and Kevin to attend ($70. each)

Pastor Kevin reported that Rameiro Conde, a gentleman of the community, had indicated he has an interest in having a Cub Scout group in Cheshire. If he could get a group together, could they meet at the church? The board wishes to have more information regarding this, i.e. Would it be a new pack or would it be associated with another area. Kevin will visit further with Mr. Conde.

For the board’s information, Pastor Kevin gave an update on the status of the old Grange Building that C-Cat is hoping to buy and restore. A $50,000. grant to buy the property had been given; however, due to some technicalities in the incorporation structure, the grant is being held up at this time.

Meeting adjourned 7:45 PM

Respectfully submitted - Janice Eames, Clerk
